Before calling out a plumber, Try using a black plunger.
Make sure that some water is in the tub and that the plunger (black cup part) is fully submerged.
Give it a really good pumping by moving the handle only, try and keep the black cup on the surface of the bath as much as possible, so to cause a vacuum inside the piping. (its quite a workout :-) )
and see if that does anything. If this fails, call a plumber to gain access and unblock the line.
Never use chemicals!
Unless you have lost the nozzle there is no reason to ever replace it. It is probably stopped up. Take a needle and unstop it.
You can access the tub drain by cutting through the ceiling below, or cutting through the side wall backing up to the tub.
It depends on the size of the tub.
sinks and tub back up because the sewer line is blocked somewhere
major back up in the lower end of the house (meaning that the kitchen sink sits higher than the bath tub that was getting the overflow) meant that everything that was washed down the sink would come up through the bath tub drain in about 30 secs of having kitchen sink water running. bought some industrial strength crystals for drainage blocks and poured it in both drains. let the sink run with hot water and watching about 1/4 of the tub fill up with years of gunk! after we stopped the water the bath tub emptied and we haven't had a problem since!
one of the two things could be the problem. 1) you have a tube that goes from the heat/ac that allows water to leave the heater box to the outside, check to see if it is stopped up, if so run a clothes hanger up into it to unstop it, but if it is clear then go to next step. 2) heater core leaking, remove and replace
The clog is below the point where the toilet and the tub join the drain.
I assume you mean when you turn on the sink water comes up from the drain in the tub? If that's the case, the drain from the tub is clogged. The sink is higher than the tub so the water comes up there.
if you are replacing a tub with a whirlpool tub that is the same size then it can be easier but if you have a pump then you still need power and a access panel for your pump. If you are new home or a remodel then you need to know where you want your faucet either deck mount or side wall and drain and access panel for your pump and power . The hardest part is installing a tub with no access to the drain hook up once the tub is in place. If you want to save money and do it your self then I would read/follow the install instructions that come with the tub or you can find them online.
The average cost of a hot tub installation is about $1000 +. You have to hire a plumber and an electrician to set up a hot tub as well as a carpentar if you would like to build an area around the hot tub, such as a deck.
maybe 500 or up!
A GARDEN TUB IS USUALLY MORE OVAL IN SHAPE. THEY ARE USUALLY A LITTLE MORE SOPHISTICATED LOOKING, AND LOOK A LITTLE CLASSIER THEN YOUR STANDARD TUB. KEEP IN MIND THESE TYPE OF TUBS TAKE UP MORE ROOM THEN YOUR AVERAGE TUB.
