Make sure you have the latest Firmware installed on the GPS. (you need to use windows to upgrade the Firmware) Connect the GPS to your computer via USB and turn it on. Back up your data to your computer, your computer will read the GPS as an external disk. I just copied over the .POI and.IMI files in the MAP folder on the GPS file directory. Disconnect the GPS like you would any other storage drive. restart the GPS thats it I should work, mine did and I used a Mac Book Pro with macOsX10.6

You would have to find out which gps you have and contact the manufacture or store you bought it from. this is how i do mine.i go to the forum at newelectronx and download the worldwide gps updates.Download the newest Map Updates for USA or whatever from the forum download section.Unzip the Map Update.rar file.Open the Map Update folderrun each file as directed and viola worldwide maps on your gps.keep in mind like i said, i am using the newelectronx amigo gps. so the instructions maybe a bit different on your gps.
