I guess you r trying to use it to apply flash or a line drawing to be tattooed. The sheets have a three page system you can use it in the following ways. 1) Place the design on the top of the carbon paper ( the non transfer side ) and tape it firm then trace around the design with a firm lead pencil or fine point biro which will transfer the drawing to the tracing paper underneath which is the third sheet in the set. Apply to skin. 2) print the design onto an ordinary a4 sheet of paper, place the drawing onto the carbon paper drawing side facing u ( transfer side up on carbon paper ) and draw around the design you printed. This is a good method as you can c where u have drawn. You will also be able to lift the drawing up to the light a c any missed lines. With this method it doese not matter if either paper moves unlike the first method. Once complete transfere to skin. 3) Pop into a thermo fax or impact printer and waala easy peezy. Hope this helped.

Ordinary carbon paper is not to be used for tattoo transfer. Carbon paper will smear, distorting the image. In addition, carbon is not a good substance to put under the ski which will happen during the creation of the tatoo.
Well generally we would use a drawing on a light box to take an outline from a design that you would bring in, assuming it would be a non custom piece. besides that we would use a thermo fax or hand trace the design on carbon paper to get our stencil

I've never heard of a Tattoo template. Try searching the Internet for a picture you want tattooed onto yourself. Place a piece of carbon paper, or ink paper(you know for making hand written copies) between your picture and a clean piece of paper. Trace the picture with something (want wide lines? use top of pen. Thin lines? use the pen). You should have an outline drawn onto the clean piece of paper in carbon or ink. Stick the carbon outline onto your body where you want the tattoo. When you remove it you should have a faint outline of the tattoo you want on the part of your body you want it. Don't rub the paper or you may smudge the outline.
Spirit papers get their name from the alcohols or "spirits" used in the manufacturing process. Typically these were methanol or polyvinyl alcohols and gave the paper a distinctive smell. The spirit papers use a leuko dye affixed to a paper that then reacts to heat, resulting in transfer of the dye to an acceptor. The image to be copied is exposed to an infrared light source which selectively heats the ink of the original. This heat is transferred via direct contact with the spirit people, effecting the transfer of the image. Spirit papers were used in thermal image copiers and old ditto machines. Although they are no longer as widely used since the invention of the xerox copiers, they remain a staple in the tattoo industry and for some silk screening artists in the creation of stencils.
