Make a cast to any type of structure, like a log, grass bed, or any shoreline hiding place. Raise the rod tip, and twitch the worm, then repeat the process until the bait is back to the boat. When you get started, first put a bullet weight on the line, then tie on the hook. When that is done, take the worm, push the point of the hook into the worm head about a quarter of an inch, then push it out the side, and push the worm to the hook eye. Take the point of the hook and push it into the side of the worm, making sure the point is not exposed. This is called a Texas rig and is a great way to catch bass. When the fish hits, it will feel like a thump. Tighten your line and set the hook with a snap of the wrist, and hold on!

The best worms to use for bass fishing is a subjective choice. Culprit worms have excellent action, while Berkely Power Bait worms have better scent. Finesse worms come in all shapes and sizes, but the inexpensive Zoom Finesse Worm is extremely effective. Senkos, a type of slowly-sinking, soft, stickbait, are also highly effective.
People use worms for fishing, plants, gardens and animals use them for food.

Sardis Lake, located near Clayton, Oklahoma, has excellent large mouth bass, small mouth bass, catfish, spotted bass, striped bass, white bass, and walleye fishing. Bass and crappie fishing is very productive just about anywhere on this lake but is most productive on the bridge by the campsites using live whole minnows, not cut. Fishing is also good on the shore on the camp grounds using minnows or lures such as spinners and spoons in the early morning. Crappie jigs are effective for crappie at mid day fishing off the dock or off the shore. Twisters are partially effective for bass and crappie at daytime off the shore. Catfish fishing is great in early morning, noon, and night in murky waters in the lake. Use worms at night. Minnows prove very effective in the daytime. Be prepared and have good equipment because catfish here are big and heavy. Walleye fishing is good in the morning through noon using flies, worms, plastic worms, and twisters soaked in walleye attractant which can be bought at bass pro shops. It smells kind of like garlic. Fish for Walleyes off the shore near the camp grounds.
