When a person is a snob they think they are better than everyone else and can be hurtful to others. Snobs are boring! A good personality with good wisdom and sense of other people's feelings goes a long way in all aspects of society. Don't get confused with a shy person being a snob. Some people are uncomfortable in certain situations. Try talking to them and you'll soon find out if they are just shy or are a true snob.
Snob appeal is widely used in advertising , by suggesting that if you own this car, or that designer's clothes. or live in an exclusive area, these things will somehow make you better than others. People who succumb to snob appeal are generally shallow , materialistic, and often insecure.
