open Command prompt and type 'ipconfig/all' with out quotes and press Enter
you can use SHOW IP PROTOCOL you will be able to see all running protocols in your router and its details...
a tool used to view and modify the IP configuration of a computer
I do not think that you can view your IP address on Xbox but you can view it in your router settings.
Just set the computer's IP Configuration settings to dynamic. That's it. Dynamic means that the IP Address is obtained automatically from a DHCP server.
The Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol, or DHCP, is responsible for IP assignment and DNS settings. It also assigns network settings and provides network configuration information including subnet mask and broadcast address.
To automate IP configuration, including IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, and DNS information, you would use the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP). DHCP allows network devices to receive their configuration settings automatically from a DHCP server, simplifying network management and ensuring devices can connect to the network with the correct settings. It assigns IP addresses dynamically, reducing the risk of IP address conflicts and minimizing manual configuration efforts.
In the IP Configuration window, you can configure various network settings, including the IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, and DNS server addresses. Additionally, you can choose between static and dynamic IP assignment, enabling DHCP if desired. This window also allows settings for IPv4 and IPv6 configurations. Adjusting these settings ensures proper network connectivity and communication with other devices on the network.
Open a terminal window on your PC and in it type: ipconfig /all
A network administrator can find configuration information, including computer names and IP addresses, in several places. This information is typically stored in the network's DHCP server, which assigns IP addresses dynamically, or in the static IP configuration settings on individual devices. Additionally, network documentation and management tools like network monitoring software can provide an overview of the current network configuration. The command line tools (like ipconfig on Windows or ifconfig on Linux) can also be used to view the IP addresses and hostnames of devices on the network.
The feature that assigns your network IP address automatically is called DHCP, or Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol. DHCP allows devices on a network to receive IP addresses and other configuration settings automatically from a DHCP server, eliminating the need for manual configuration. This process ensures that devices can connect to the network quickly and efficiently with valid IP addresses.
The protocol that automatically configures IP settings for a client is called Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP). DHCP allows devices on a network to receive IP addresses and other network configuration parameters automatically, eliminating the need for manual configuration. When a client connects to the network, it sends a request to the DHCP server, which then assigns an available IP address and provides additional information like the subnet mask, default gateway, and DNS servers.
It's beauty of DHCP servers that you don't need to worry about your IP settings. Nothing will happend to your ip address configuration. But you might get another ip address when you next time connect your PC to the network. It's not a big deal unless you are using ip address in the Remote Desktop Manager.
