EVERYTHING has to be well above average. You need a PRO/CON Average of at least 4.7/4.7 to be competitive. A PFT of at least 270. A MCMAP Belt of at least green. A rifle score of at least 220 on a 250 point scale. You need to have completed at least 20 MCI's. You need to have read at least 3 books off of the Commandant's Reading List. This is all suggestive to be competitive. Not having any of these will not disqualify you, but you will not really be too competitive without it. A MAJOR perk to any board package is OFF-DUTY EDUCATION and VOLUNTEER WORK. With substantial efforts in both of these categories, you will be great competition.
