How do you change a rear license plate bulb on a 2001 Buick Century?you have to remove the complete light panel from the truck lid and it's simple. there are about 8 wing nuts on the inside of the truck lid you unscrew, and then the panel just pullsout giving you access to the 2 sockets for the license plate bulbs. Just unscrew each socket counterclockwise, pull out the bulb and push in the new one. Then put the light panel back on the trunk and screw all the wing nuts back on.
No. you have to have them both on the car or truck.

You can gain access from behind the bumper.
Reach under the truck bumper and you should feel the backside of the license plate light unit. Give it a small turn and pull the unit out. Then pull out the bulb and replace with the new bulb and return the unit back to original location.
with a small flat screwdriver, the light can be levered off the back of the bumper.from underneath the truck these lights just push in thru a hole in the bumper.you can then change bulb
