I am not familiar with your vehicle, but trailer lighting wiring is just about the same for all vehicles. Therefore, this discussion will of necessity be generic in nature.
Usually, the "kit" for/with the trailer wiring includes the connector plug for attaching to the tow vehicle light system.
That kit usually has very detailed and specific instructions on what wire colors mean and how to connect into the tow vehicle wiring system.
Read and study that instruction sheet UNTIL you know it by heart!!!!! Then, and only then attempt to make the connection into the tow vehicle light wiring system.
In general, there are four wires:
A ground wire.
A wire for tail lights.
And two wires, one each for left and right turn signals.
Make certain that the wiring is connected properly but also, check the ground wire. Don't count on the hitch to be the ground for the trailer. There should be a ground wire that goes to the electrical plug, make certain that it is connected properly.
Something that specific would be a dealer item. Go to your local Ford dealer.
Check the ground on the trailer..and then check ur hitch and ball..i bought a new ball last night and the lights didnt work until the ball got a little wear on it.
bad connection at the bulb, short in the wire or a bare wire. hope it helps. duboff
The center pin of a seven blade trailer plug is for reverse lights, not power. What type of truck is it? What trailer plug do you have...
The only difference between LED lights and your old lights is the bulbs. Wire the new lights up using your existing wires and you'll be fine.
A couple possibilities: 1) the insulation from a wire is damaged and the wire is in contact with the frame of the vehicle. 2) A socket is damaged or the bulb is put in wrong or damaged. 3) if the vehicle has a trailer light plug, it could be wired wrong or damaged. 4) the light switch or relay (if it uses a relay) is faulty and must be replaced. Another 2 posibilities are, if a new stereo has been fitted the earth for the stereo may have been connected to the illumination wire which tests as an earth when the park lights are off. To test this just unplug the stereo, replace the fuse and turn on the lights. If it stops isolate illumination wire and connect steroe to a proper earth. The other thing could be that illumination wire has been disconnected but not isolated properly and is shorting out behind radio.
