- The old saying, 'You can lead a horse to water, but not make them drink' rings true in this case. It is time for you to take control and tell your husband he either cooperates and sees a marriage counselor with you and tries to make the marriage work and if he refuses you will take it to mean he doesn't love you enough to make the marriage work and you will file for a separation or a divorce.
