(1) disconnect the negative battery terminal
(2) using a plastic blade (or a butter knife covered in cloth) prise off the surround on the system.
(3) disconnect the wires to the cigarette lighter and instrument light
(4) undo the four bolts holding the unit in place and partially pull out the unit (if you pull it to hard you damage the wiring harness)
(5) at the back of the unit disconnect the plugs and aerial
you should now have the ashtray and sound unit out of the car
(6) remove the bolt holding the unit to the main bracket.
just go backwards to put it all in and i suggest checking the new unit fits and works before putting it all back together. and don't forget that negative terminal
