They were both founded around the same time in China(in fact, the founders of both religions apparently knew one another). The difference between them is, Confucianism is all about man's relationship with his fellow man, while Taoism is all about man's relationship with nature.

Confucianism deals more with maintaining the social order through respecting position and status, whereas Daoism rejects any kind of unnatural thing (eg government). Daoism is more about letting go of desires and flowing in harmony with nature, but Confucianism teaches about being a good person through your actions and goodness.
