Well, a few days or if you are really eager a few weeks before Christmas people will put up a Christmas tree, this can be a real Fir - Tree or it can be a fake one, families will often then decorate their Christmas tree with lights and baubles to make it look nice. Traditionally the night before Christmas Day, which is Christmas Eve, people will put a tray out with maybe a cookie or a mince pie with some milk for Santa and they will then go to bed. The next morning hopefully the food you left out will be gone (often children's' parents will eat it for them) and then you open all your presents - this is very good fun! During the day the Queen of England will make a speech wishing the country well and a Merry Christmas, and then at either lunch or dinner people will have a roast dinner which will mainly consist of; turkey, roast potatoes, a mix of vegetables, stuffing, pigs in blankets (a small sausage wrapped in bacon), bread sauce, cranberry sauce, maybe some Yorkshire puddings and gravy. And for desert people will often have a Christmas pudding or some mince pies. At the end of day people will often be very tired and sleep well through the night and then on the 26th of December (boxing day) children and adults will often experiment with whatever presents they got the day before.
