It is precisely their inability to be perfect which makes all He does for them and through them "grace" (unmerited, undeserved favor). Now then "dysfunctionalism" is a foolish word since no two people let alone families are the same...unfortunately some like to create these little boxes of a judging other because it sells well and they make a lot of money. Now granted some families actually are destructive in their dynamics but most are just different from one another. Plus "the box" of course is a set of preconcieved criteria and cannot account for cultural peculiarities, the time period, and the unknown desires and goals of each of the individuals involved. But despite are uniqueness the Lord can use whoever He empowers (Romans 3:23; 6:23; John 3:3-8; Acts 2:38)
