Plyometrics has 4 benefits to the trainee that aid in sports specific performance:
1. The myostatic stretch reflex is "reinforced" by plyometric drills. When a muscle/tendon structure is stretched the body contracts the muscle in response. Before a movement such as a vertical jump, a counter movement is first performed which induces a stretch reflex and allows the muscles to move with greater power.
2. Tendon stiffness/ elasticity is improved. Greater tendon stiffness is accomplished as the protein structure of the tendons is strengthened. This allows power from the muscles to more effectively be transferred from the ground, through the athlete.
3. Strength is improved as the muscles overcome body weight and gravity at high speeds. Note that while strength is improved, it is better to supplement plyometrics with a strength training program where strength levels can be maximized.
4. Movement efficiency is improved. Performing the skill in a plyometric fashion should mimic the skill you perform in your particular sport. Repeition at very high speeds increase the neural efficiency of the movement and "greases" the groove, allow you to use more of the strength that you already have.
Plyometrics is a great way to improve your vert, but also do alot of leg exercises
yes
Plyometrics is a form of training that helps an athlete increase power and speed. Plyometrics tricks the mind and helps improve the muscle to move quickly. With the explosive and quick movement during training it trains the muscle to work differently.
Plyometrics applies to any sport that wishes to add speed and power to a movement.
wide stance squats
Plyometric training trains the central nervous to "master" a certain skill or movement, as you repeat activity specific activities.PLyometrics also improve the elasticity of muscle tendons, which allow you to return energy back into a movement for added power. EX. Jumping takes your own bodyweight and propels if back up.Plyometrics also can help with strength, however it is better to couple plyometrics with strength training to get maximum effect. The following is a free video explanation of the different phases of plyometrics:http://freeverticaljumptraining.com/essentialsforexposivetraining/plyometrics-may-not-work-for-you-how-to-do-real-plyometrics/Hope this helps.Jacob HillerThe Jump Manual
Yes, plyometrics can help a person maintain cardiorespiratory fitness. Plyometrics is a form of jump training. It consists of exercises that exert a lot of force in a short period of time. It looks to increase speed and power, thus, why it would be a good form of cardiorespiratory fitness.
plyometrics are a very important part of volleyball because the whole game is based on fast-twitch muscle movements. When using plyometrics you are able to train these muscles to explode fast and you will get a faster motion. It also helps improve your vertical jump which is crucial as a front row player. For backrow players, it is important to have quick fast-twitch muscles because their motions are quick side-to-side movements

Yes, there are several companies that have released great plyometrics workout videos. You can even find some great plyometrics workout videos on Youtube.
when you go practising playing soccer, instead kicking with your right leg kick with you left!!! do some exercises with your left leg aswell so you will get more power!!! hope this helps!!!
Any athlete who wants to add power / speed to their movement. Pitchers, basketball players, golfers, fighters, etc...
