Shell is a huge company. and has a history of going to as little trouble as possible for their employees and the people surrounding their enterprises as possible. at one stage they were even complicit in the use of forced labour in the USSR. the conditions that are enjoyed by their employees are dependant on local regulations and law. they are not nice people.
