John Deere lawn mowers are all built in Horicon, Wisconsin, USA. They are the identical mowers which you can and SHOULD buy from any John Deere dealer. At the dealer they can help you with any technical problems while Home Depot just sells them...that's it. Why give them a buck while the John Deere dealer is there for you if you ever need help?
I'll try to give you an unbiased answer...John Deere. I have farmed with many colors of tractors varying from green to red and even a little orange and gray but over the years I have found that John Deere does make the best tractor. They rarely have mechanical problems but if you do they have a virtual army of skilled mechanics to stand by you to make sure it is fixed. No company other than John Deere has remained under the same name for 172 years like John Deere has.
