Well, seeing how I'm pretty shy around any girl that I've like since high school, just make your presence known to her. Say more than just "Hi." Where ever you meet her, be prepared to ask her about herself and ask pertinent questions about her answers- your ability to improvise, quick thinking and ability to adapt is going to help you out, especially after you start the conversation. Make sure you look her straight into her eyes and smile. It sometimes helps to be a little silly/quirky as well.

honstly, im a girl and would want him to be nervous, but have the courage to look at me and tell funny jokes or about how mean his math teacher is, then ask me who mine is! if hes not scared to laugh, im serious if a guy laughs he holds the key to my heart, and like said above SAY MORE THAN "HI" that tells girls i wanna talk to you but you start any real convo. even if thats how you feel, dont show that, theres nothing cuter than confidence and after all that if she doesnt love you, shes not worth it.
