It all starts at the power supply which is plugged into your house power at one end and supplies the required voltages and currents for the various internal component at the output from the supply.

A TV is no different from other electrical appliances in that a voltage is applied to a circuit and on a good day the circuit does something useful. In a TV there is a receiver which snatches waveforms from the surrounding environment and converts these signals to information that allows the display system to show the picture on a display surface. There is also the control system that interacts with the remote control to allow you to change channels and turn the set on or off.

All these components use electricity to operate and do their job whatever it might be.
