A wiper motor is a DC motor with two permanent magnets that serves as a field for the motor, arranged around the armature where the power is connected to the commentator of the armature with two brushes, the armature is a set of electro magnetic coils that is each connected to its own two segments in the commentator so that the power is connected to only one coil at a time to generate a magnetic field in the armature, this field will appose the field of the permanent magnet field, where the one field will push the other away and make the motor to turn.
A dc series motor can work on dc and ac because dc motors are totally reversible.
break is connected with parallel to motor winding if the brake is d.c. is supply it must be connected with rectifier unit,when motor in ideal position the brake holds the shaft which is connected with gear and when motor starts the break coil will energise and motor shat became free and motor will run like this brake work
With a synchronous motor shorting the slip-rings together should make it work as an induction motor although perhaps not to an optimal degree.
To state it simply, a DC brushless motor is not a DC motor. It is an AC motor with an inverter (or electronic commutator) on the front end to make the AC, so you can use a DC input.
If it is a series motor it may still work. If it is a shunt motor it will not work , it will produce a humming noise and get heated. The shunt fields normally have high reactance so the field current will be drastically reduced, which may not be able to create the requisite torque.

Perhaps a defective wiper motor
Assuming they did not work with the old wiper motor, check the fuse, check the switch.
wiper motor or the bolts holding it tight.
Remove the wiper arm from the wiper motor. Remove the wiring harness from the wiper motor. Remove the wiper motor retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install the new wiper motor.
In many cars, there is only a single wiper motor. One wiper arm is attached directly to the wiper motor and the other through a linkage. If one is working, the motor is operating but the connection to the other may be broken.
if its the driver wiper that doesn't work, its probably the control rod broken. the passengers wiper is driven by the motor, the drivers by the linkage from the passengers wiper mechanism
Remove the wiring harness from the wiper motor. Remove the windshield wiper arm from the wiper motor. Remove the wiper motor retaining screws. Reverse the process to install the new wiper motor.
Wiper arm travel rod from the wiper motor. Remove the wiper motor wiring harness. Remove the wiper motor retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install the new wiper motor.
Check fuses and relays
Remove the rear wiper arm from the wiper motor. Remove the wiring harness from the wiper motor. Remove the wiper motor retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install the new wiper motor.
