That call you hear 5 times a day soon becomes part of your life, you may miss it if you once didn't hear it, it may remind you of some old sweet days when you heard it while talking with a friend you now miss, when you both stopped talking to listen to the adhaan, what a beautiful voice was it!!
Touching your heart, you rose up to wash for Woduu' then you turned your face and body towards the Quibla and began your prayer...
Did you feel the peace in your heart wile washing off the resins of life from your extremities that deal with it? your face, hands, hair and feet..
then while taking off your foot cover you feel you just took off life and took a short break!!
Alone with your Lord, even when you are in line with other fellow Muslims, talking to Him, wishing His Mercy, complaining of life and turning to His Shelter.....
The prayer just ends, you took only 5 to 10 minutes, but you just became another new person, all the burden on your shoulders you just threw!! now you are free again...
There is somebody you really love, you wished to be connected to him, you just offered to pray with him, you made him your Imam, you just followed.... now you are not ordinary friends, you had a new share... you shared standing in front of your Lord!
In a foreign country you heard the Adhan, a new voice this time, a new human voice with a different accent, a colourful collection of nations, you just followed the voice, a whole new Masjid, your fellow next to you is unknown, but you still feel peace... I'm inside Allah's house, among my fellow Muslims, doing the same prayer I do in my country among my friends at home... I'm no more a stranger....
The prayer ends, you say to your neighbor "Taqabbal Allah/ may Allah accept your prayer", he replies "Minna wa minkom/from me and from you in Shaa Allah"
you open a conversation with him, he invites you for a visit... you are now a friend of his family.... you made your small new society.... you never feel lonely
as long as you hear the Adhaan touching your ears!
