It often makes you lose friends, and wrecks relationships. Anorexia completely takes over your life, and often comes back even if you get better. If you know someone who you suspect is anorexic, or shows any signs of anorexia, you should tell someone, because the sooner someone is helped the better. Anorexia really affects your life, it can completely change your life, and also affects the lives of people around you. You can end up in hospital, or even dead. Also, you will basically become a corpse and even though you supposedly don't care about food anymore, trust me, you won't be able to focus on anything but food.

It literally affects everything. Well for me it did at least, when i was at my worst and totally consumed, it invaded every waking moment, and in fact even my dreams. I was constantly preoccupied by thoughts of food, weight, calories, macros, exercise, numbers, measurements etc. I couldn't focus or concentrate on anything, or maintain any kind of relationship bc my brain and body were too starved and i just didn't have the energy, motivation or mental capacity. It felt like i was living life in a thick fog where nothing but my illness mattered. I know others will have had different experiences, and there is such a thing as 'functional anorexia' where the sufferer is high-functioning and still manages to live a mostly normal life, but in several or many aspects they may still be controlled.
