Burning trees not only creates more carbon dioxide because of the smoke released from the burning, but also because trees help remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. They take in CO2 and release oxygen. The less trees there are, the more CO2 in our atmosphere.

Why is the increase of atmospheric carbon dioxide less than the amount of carbon dioxide emissions produced by burning of fossil fuels?

Because trees consume carbon dioxide and produce oxygen.

What will burning trees in a forest or gasoline in car will do to the atmosphere?

Carbon dioxide, laid down millions of years ago when fossil fuels were formed.

What are the effects of combustion and deforestation and how do they relate to the greenhouse effect?

Combustion (burning) of any material usually releases carbon dioxide, as carbon is such a major component of everything on earth. Deforestation (removal of trees) means that the trees are no longer able to take carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. The greenhouse effect is the greenhouse gases retaining warmth from the sun. Any increase of greenhouse gases (as carbon dioxide is) leads to a warming in the atmosphere.

Whats the definition of gas released when trees are burned?

I think its carbon dioxide but i'm not sure

What are three things that put carbon dioxide into the air by burning?

Burning fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas)Burning trees (half a tree is carbon)Burning any garbage (most things on earth have large amounts of carbon in them)

Why do trees suck in carbon dioxide?

trees suck in carbon dioxide to then release oxygen

What effects do humans and pollution have on trees?

Humans can actually help trees because we breathe out Carbon dioxide when trees take in but when we cut down trees then we kill it.

How do muck fires damage trees?

Muck fires damage trees by coating the trees with soot or by directly burning them. This limits their ability to absorb light and carbon dioxide.

Why does cutting down trees increase carbon dioxide?

Trees and other plants absorb carbon dioxide.

Does trees absorb carbon monoxide?

Carbon Monoxide: is a colorless, odorless, tastless gas that when inhaled is toxic to humans. Carbon Monoxide: is a byproduct of a rich mixture fire, Burning wood, Gas fires, etc. Your answer is No! Trees use Carbon Dioxide which is what you release when you exhale. So-Live long.

Do palm trees need carbon dioxide?

Yes, all trees need and absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.

What are the two main problems causing carbon dioxide in your atmosphere?

Deforestation has destroyed the trees that used to remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. The burning of fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas) in industry, transport and the generation of electricity, releases extra carbon dioxide.
