The mouse environment result of clicking on and dragging the visualisation (icon) of a file on a screen from one place to another results in the file being renamed (the full file name from "root").

Dragging the file to the Skype window works fine. The other person must then accept, to start receiving the file.
If you like, you can hold down the SHIFT key while you drag files, but you really just need to left-click and drag with the mouse. You use the CTRL key if you want to copy, but not move a file.
The Move Tool allows you to rearrange layers in Photoshop by dragging and dropping.
Yes. If you are using either Windows or a Mac OS, it should just be a matter of dragging the picture (or any other file) from the external drive to the appropriate folder in your internal drive. With Windows, if you drag-and-drop, the file will be copied; it will reside in both places. If you want to MOVE it, press and hold the right (or alternate) mouse button and drag it; the system will offer you choices to copy or move.

Dragging it to the flash memory usually means copying it to a memory which is slower and can be portable. The desktop memory however is faster than flash memory but sadly not portable.
Generally when you perform this action, it will move the file from its location to the new one, unless you do this across drives. In that case, you will have dragged a copy of the file to the new drive and the original one will still be in its original place. When you are dragging a file, keep a sharp eye on your mouse cursor while your finger is still holding the left button. If you see an arrow on the file, it means it is about to make a shortcut to the file, but it will still remain at its original location. If it's a plus symbol, it is about to make a copy of it. If you see nothing else, it is about to move the file completely. To completely remove and place a file to another drive, highlight the file, press CTRL+X to cut it from its location (you won't lose it unless a paste action is performed), then go to the other drive, open the folder where you want it to go and press CTRL+V to paste it. If it is a large file, it is safer to press CTRL+C to copy the file instead of cutting it in case it suffers an error in transit and you may lose both. When the copy is successful, you can delete the original.
Remove the door from it's hinges and sand/file down the part that is dragging.
