alot of mechanical parts in your car require lubrication. this lubrication or oil has a certain viscosity that is rated by the manufacturer that is used in the different parts of your car. such as rear differential, transmission, transfer case, engine, if this oil is not changed as recommended the viscosity begins to brake down and looses consistency. when this oil brakes down it does not lubricate as it should and is like using water instead of thick greasy oil. when this brakes down its no longer doing its job ther for its not lubricating causing unnesicary damage to the metal of these parts. over a period of time this causes the efficiency of your parts or motor to decrease causing your engine to have to work harder to move its parts..
