Depends on the program. I work in college admission and for us it's more about experience in the field than knowing terminology. People who have volunteered/worked as nurse's assistants, caretakers, emt's etc have an edge because they understand what the job will be like and we know they are serious about becoming nurses. Admitting people with some experience improves the quality of the class and our retention rate. Our program is BSN. I assume it's similar or less intense for RN.
