Locate fuel rail test port which is very close to the backside of the Power Steering pump/reservoir. Remove dust cap from test port. Thread on a fuel pressure gauge assembly. Be ready with a rag to soak up some fuel that may squirt out as you make the connection. Once you have the gauge installed start the engine. Pressure should be 45-50 psi at an idle. Briefly disconnect the vacuum line at the fuel pressure regulator while engine is running, the pressure should peak to 59-60 psi. Note, Check vacuum line for fuel leakage when you disconnect it from regulator. It should be dry, if not replace regulator.
Fuel pressure (ignition key turned to on, engine not running): 50 to 60 psi
With a fuel pressure gauge attached to the fuel rail.
You need to specify the engine size as it can range from 6 to 60 pounds.
The 2002 Chevrolet Impala runs on regular unleaded.
you can check your fuel pressure! check the timing, maybe even your crankshaft and or camshaft sensor. maybe weak fuel pump
this code is a pressure leak in the fuel system -- check gas cap and eval system.
Need to check fuel pressure with a gauge first. Then check fuel pressure regulator. Need to check fuel pressure with a gauge first. Then check fuel pressure regulator. Need to check fuel pressure with a gauge first. Then check fuel pressure regulator. Need to check fuel pressure with a gauge first. Then check fuel pressure regulator.
Most of these are located near the fuel rail on the top of the engine. Keep in mind, fuel pump failure is the #1 problem on these cars when they start hard or run poorly.
Fuel pressure pump, gets fuel to fuel injector pump, which pump do you want to check and symptoms?
It has a electric pump inside of the fuel tank.
It is located in the gas tank.
a faulty fuel pump. check for a noisy humming sound comming from the fuel tank
