How does one clean a laptop keyboard that still works but is too sticky because it had soda spilled on it?

Each laptop allow to remove its keyboard, go through the manual how to, remove the keyboard. Usually each key can be removed too, make sure that you know how to... Remove each key and clean with clean water, dry it before installation. Clean the keyboard body with slightly wet tissue, dry before installation.

∙ 13y agoA liquid such as soda pop is very difficult to clean. I had to buy a new keyboard when I spilled a little soda on it and two of my keys stopped working. That was the turning point for me and I invested in a waterproof keyboard, and it has been the best investment. I no longer worry about my drink ruining my keyboard and cleaning it is a breeze.

TUrn off your computer , take out the battery , and unplug it . Try to clean out as much of the coke as you can. Leave the keyboard upside down if you have just a keyboard . But if you have a laptop turn it upside down with the screen open and put it in a position so that it looks like a triangle / pyramid.SO THE COKE WILL DRIAN OUT AND EVAPORATE EASIER) LET IT SIT LIKE THIS OVER NIGHT!! Just to let you know i spilled soda on my keyboard recently and did what i just told you and my computer still works perfectly but my keyboard is a little sticky but its wearing off so no big deal , anyways good luck: )

silicone spray did well for me. but i don't know what the long term effect on my keyboard will be. this is a desktop keyboard. laptop keyboard is a very different thing. silicone spray does protect rubber, etc as well as lubricate and is not conductive of electricity. so far, its worked very well.
