The service that for years was known as Hotmail by MSN has recently been taken over by Outlook. One who already had a Hotmail account had the account recently converted to MSN Outlook. If one opens an account now it is no longer considered to be a Hotmail account and the email address will replace the Hotmail portion of the email address with outlook.
