The best way to stop worrying about a package that's expecting to arrive is to get one's mind off of it. Do this by going out to eat with some friends, running, or take a vacation. These are some great ways to get one's mind off of it, and to keep from worrying. Companies like FedEx actually allow the customer to track the progress of a package directly from the internet if that will help ease one's mind.
