Philosophy influences education by shaping the underlying beliefs and values that inform educational practices. Philosophical perspectives help determine the goals of education, the curriculum taught, the methods of teaching used, and the assessment of student learning. For example, philosophical ideas about the nature of knowledge, the purpose of learning, and the role of teachers can all have a profound impact on educational theory and practice.

The answer to this question has to be that it depends.. If you take the educational philosophy of Maria Montessori for example, that had and has a great influence on teaching, with children being encouraged to learn in a friendly atmosphere.

Some philosophies take a long time to filter down to the classroom, and so have little impact n teaching and learning. Some such as the idea of Communicative competence have been tried and seen to be insufficient alone, and so this has now incorporated the good parts of other philosophies of education. Practice and philosophy can be very divers, and basically teachers teach in a way that suits them personally rather than in the way an educational philosophy dictates.
