Many materials require a lot of energy to process the raw product aluminum for example it takes far less energy to reprocess aluminum scrap then it does to get it fro bauxite. And it follows that as a result less oil is used to run the power generators used in this process.

Most energy (electricity) we use comes from burning of fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas) which releases carbon dioxide (CO2).

Recycling plastic, glass, aluminium and other things saves energy, as it's much easier to remake bottles and cans. Making things from the original materials takes much more energy.

Recycling helps us conserve our Natural Resources by utilizing what we already have access to. It takes some expenditure of natural resources to produce the goods in the first place, but by re-using them over time, we limit the natural resources being used for mass production.

Furthermore, an example of re-using an item, is packaging. Green packaging is set aside so that 1 box can be used 100 times instead of 100 boxes utilized once each. This means that to make corrugated cartons (following in the aforementioned example), 1/100 of the materials needed to make cardboard would be needed for 100x of the use (using random numbers, of course).

Does recycling paper and glass use more energy than it saves?

PaperNo, recycling paper uses less energy (between 40% and 64% less) than if the paper was made from unrecycled wood pulp. Some calculations suggest that recycling one ton of newspaper saves enough electricity to heat and air-condition the average American house for 6 months.GlassNo, recycling glass uses about 40% less energy than making virgin glass from sand, lime and soda, as the furnaces don't need so much energy. Recycling two glass bottles saves enough energy to boil 5 cups of coffee.

Identify two ways recycling can reduce energy use?

Less energy is used in making a recycled product rather than a new one. Recycling paper and cardboard can save trees. It also saves money and time.

What are the benefits of auto recycling?

Auto recycling is when vehicles are taken apart for spare parts. Some of the benefits of auto recycling are: saves energy and natural resources, and recycling metal uses less energy than making metal.

Fact about Recycling?

Facts about recycling include that using recycled glass requires 40 percent less energy. In America alone people use 200 million aluminum cans each and every day.

How does recycling reduce energy use and greenhouse gas emissions?

It takes a lot of energy to make, eg, glass or aluminium out of raw materials. This energy is usually electricity generated by burning fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas). This is causing global warming. It takes a lot less energy to make a glass bottle or an aluminium can out of recycledglass or aluminium. So recycling reduces energy use and greenhouse gas emissions.

How does recycling and reusing reduce pollution?

The benefits of recycling is that it helps there to be less fossil fuels and green house gases. There is also less energy used to produce new products.

How is not recycling affecting the world?

it is using less energy from power plants which is helping with pollution

What are 2 ways recycling can reduce energy use?
