For farmers the St.George Vally has rich soil and therefore more farmers may settle in the St.George area.

In areas like St.Andrew and other northern parishes the soil is more clay-like and is not very stable. These areas are most likely prone to land slides.

People tend to build more on low lying areas instead of high lands. People live close to areas where employment is easily acessable. The low lying areas tend to have rich alluvial soil which is ideal for agriculture.
