Soil erosion is one of the most important source of pollution in today's mechanical world...pesticides,chemical fertilizers are now a days increasingly used all around the world....Though there are advantages of use such chemicals in production wise, their impact on human beings can not be neglected...Through the process of biomagnification they enter human body when soil erosion leads them to nearby closed water bodies...thus it causes serious diseases like minamata, insomnia, cholera etc.

Soil erosion of any kind has a cascading effect on various forms of life on earth. A river flood can erode and carry with it valuable fertile soil, agricultural produces grown on the banks, properties of people, boats etc. It creates panic and exodus of people to safer places and consequent problems of rehabilitation. The eroded soil and muck gets dumped into seas, fills the coastal areas and will result in waves riding the hollow sea shore and hit the land along the sea coast, gobble up more and more soil and suck it back into the sea bed. People on coastal areas are most hit.

Another example is the disappearance of islands in the Bay of Bengal in India's coast. The Sundarbans - land of the world famous Bengal Tigers - known as the esturian islands in the Bay of Bengal had about 100 tiny islands with tribal people living in them. But recently, a physical survey revealed that two islands named Lohachaara and Lochara banga had disappeared due to rise in the sea level.

At this rate, the climate change and global warming have been responsibile for the furious way in which the Himalayan glaciers are melting and the scarce sweet water stored in the form of ice are flooding the down stream rivers with terrible results.
