How does the Second amendment effect us today?

It also provides for the citizens to act in self defense of person and home against criminal actions by outlaws. It also provides a pool of armed citizens to act in defense of the nation and state (not so much in this day, but when there was little or no standing army, this was important.)

"Bear Arms and Permission to Form a Well-Regulated Militia" I know the most talked about topic is Gun Control, But the U.S have been dealing with this Problem for a long time, so give them a chance to do right. The second amendment doesn't help us today, actually this amendment is the most trouble one. We can't remove it or do anything because it will be unconstitutional, and it is against the law. The thing we can do is support Gun Control and give the goverment Ideas how to control it.
