Get yourself a ratchet with a 1/2" head on it. There is a pully just below the alternator. It's on the end of an arm and has a squar hole in it. Place the ratchet head in the arm and push to the right the arm should move down and relies the pressure on the belt.
Go to Mitchell on demand.

You can find a serpentine belt diagram for a 1987 Ford Thunderbird if you click here. Everything turns the same way but the water pump and the idler which use the outside of the belt.
I have a 95 thunderbird and there is one small tension pulley located closer to the passenger side of the pulley assembly. You have to go under the car and push that pulley up. Doing that will release the tension of the belt and you can pull it off. Make sure you have the diagram under your hood so you remember which way it goes back on. I replaced my belt with a Gator brand, a little more money, maybe 45 bucks but a very very good belt.
Go to the local auto parts. Ask about the 1994 1993 and 1992 ac belts, make sure that they are the same. If they are the same then ask for 1992 or 1993 belt for the non ac motor. This is the belt that you need.
