They are bulbs that press into the backof the dashboard. The dashboard lights work off of a printed circuit. If you need to fix the dash board lights the steering column can be dropped down to gain access. Most books say to pull the steering wheel but you can do the job a lot faster just by taking the U clamp off the bottom of the steering column and dropping it down.
