Through their genes - or during pregnancy ! Many diseases can (and usually are) passed down from the mother to the foetus through the umbilical cord.
The young of placental mammals develop within a placenta. The placenta is a thick membrane that is connected to the inside of the uterine wall. The umbilical cord connects the baby to the inside wall of the placenta. Nutrients and oxygen go from the mother's blood stream through the placenta, down the umbilical cord, and into the baby. The baby releases waste products and carbon dioxide, which travel up the umbilical cord, through the placenta and into the mother's blood stream.
After four weeks, the fertilized egg becomes an embryo. Its brain spine and limbs are forming and its heart will soon beat.At 12 weeks, the embryo is now a foetus. All its organs are formed;for the rest of the time before birth, it just grows. From 38 weeks the baby is ready to be born.It moves down into the pelvis. The baby is born through the privet
Ducks don't have umbilical cords when born, but some have egg membrane (which can be bloody) attached to their down feather when hatched, so this may be what you have seen. ~BlackWolf1112
Spinal Cord
Usually dog mom does that but if you have to make sure you sterlize your scissors first, leave about 1 to 2 inches of the umbilical on the puppy. By leaving 1-2" on the puppy, this will decrease the risk of any injury, if you cut the cord too far down. Don't worry though, this part will eventually grow into the puppy, to form a bellybutton.
The only way to break down a compound is through a chemical reaction.
Could be an umbilical hernia. You ought to take your bellybutton to a doctor.
homestasis
The spinal cord is like the paint and walls of a house. The spinal cord holds everything together and it can be really dangerous if you break your spinal cord. One way to feel your spinal cord is press down on the back of your neck and you'll feel weirdly shaped bones.
