Las Vegas is a desert city situated in the Mojave Desert. Las Vegas is surrounded by 2 mountains ranges, which are the Sierre Nevada Mountains and the Spring Mountains. These mountains ranges block the moisture in the forms of clouds and rain from the Pacific Ocean, and contribuces to the aridity of the Sin City. This phenomenon is called the rain shadow. The Mojave Desert is located under subtropical latitudes, the horse latitudesand is also affected by the North Pacific High, which is a large high pressure zone with dry sinking air capping the ground? The North Pacific High stays mainly on the Californian coast especially in summer.
Yes. Ocean currents affect world wide weather patterns, and weather affects Las Vegas.
the climate: humidity or lack there of.
The windward side of a mountain is typically the west side of the mountain, receiving the various weather as weather moves west to east. The leeward side of a mountain opposes the windward side, making it the east side of the mountain, receiving little weather, blocking weather (rain) and warming air rapidly as it moves down this side of the mountain. The leeward side of mountains causes deserts, dry places, little rain, etc., for it releases warm air unto these places, and blocks weather (rain) from moistening them (I.E. Las Vegas, etc. on the eastern side of the mountain ranges).
The weather is Las Vegas is always warm, but in the winter (Mid Nov. -- Early Feb.) it is FREEZING. March is probably your basic spring weather. I think the weather will be good enough to swim, but always pack pants and long sleeves just in case the weather makes a dramatic change. So, hopefully, it'll be warm enough for capri's, but not shorts or tank tops for girls, but for guys...capri's and your regular t-shirt. Don't forget jackets!

Because Las Vegas is not near the north pole, it would be tropical climate.

The surrounding areas and diversifed climate.
I am an asthma pt and was born and raised in Las Vegas and moved to Sacramento, CA back in 2000 and I never had as many asthma issues living in Las Vegas than I do living here in Sacramento. I think due to the dry air and heat in Las Vegas it doesn't affect your asthma that bad. On a personal note I would rather live in Las Vegas' 115 degree weather and not suffer from my asthma than live where i do now.
las Vegas Nevada has a desert climate-hot and dry with little rain fall all year round
