How does the oil fill tube of a john deere model 14SZ mower come out of the base for replacement?

Take the round plastic screen of the top of the motor, it just snaps on. Then there are 3 bolts underneath it that need removed. Also remove the screw that holds the cable clamp on the sparks plug side of the engine. Remove the engine cover then you will see the screw that is holding the oil tube.

You may also want to check for a crack or pin hole in the gas line. There is a restriction of fuel flow to the carburetor.
