You program the "computer" for a specific mileage between filter changes. It will display a message when it is nearing time for a change. See the owners manual for steps to program the computer module (instrument cluster module0. Carl
On the Windstar, the default calculation is on Ford's recommended mileage interval - 5,000 miles.
It is possible to over-ride that and set a shorter mileage interval.
Those instructions are also in the Owners Manual (See "Related Questions" below)
how do u change on board computer BMW 525i 1990 and need a diagram of relay switches
No - the computer will notice some better sensor readings all by itself
how do you change a shaft soleniod in a ford windstar 1995 v6 3.8 engin
You can only do that if you have an onboard computer. In my case I have a VW Polo Confortline 2006 with computer. Then you just need to press an up/down button on the extremety of the wipe wash control (the right one). If you don't have onboard computer, I believe you that you can't check the ouside temperature, travel time, Kilometers left with current fuel on tank...
It will bolt in, however, you will run into problems with the onboard computer. You will have to reprogram, or maybe even change it.
there is a whole lot more to do
The Windstar engines all use a timing CHAIN - meaning you do not have to change as a part of regular maintenance. You shouldn't have to change a timing chain unless there a significant engine failure.
default is of course 'on', does your overdrive switch not work? Overdrive should be saving on gas mileage...To change, you would likely need some way to access the cars computer. Goodluck with that.
we can change it through decreasing its value.
