The pill contains hormones and chemicals which trick your body into thinking its pregnant in the sense that it prevents your body from ovulating and releasing a egg awaiting fertilization. If you miss a pill this decreases the amount of hormones preventing pregnancy and puts you at risk of pregnancy. Birth Control will not prevent pregnancy until you've been taking it for 4 weeks.

Hi, The morning after pill which is also known as Plan B, works by preventing your ovaries from releasing a egg and prevents ovulation from occurring. Without a egg you cannot conceive so there is a substantially reduced risk of pregnancy occurring.

Birth control pills have a dual effect, they prohibit ovulation, without ovulation conception won't occur. The other effect is to make cervical mucus too thick for sperm to move through to access the fallopian tube.

Trained clinicians make a small cut in the upper inner-arm. Usually they'll ask you if you're left-handed or right-handed so they can implant the rod in the lesser used arm.
A small blue rod loaded with hormones to stop ovulation is inserted into the arm. The doctor will advice you to refrain from having unprotected sex for at least 2 weeks so the implant has a chance to pump your body full of hormones.
I had the rod inserted at 17 at the advice of my first sexual partner. The contraceptive implant did not work for me and caused me a great deal of pain. I bled every day, every hour, had sharp stabbing pains in my arm and shoulder, my arm would go numb and start bleeding under the skin, for the 7 months it took me to convince the doctors to remove it. I have been free of the unholy contraceptive implant for almost a year and a half. Immediately after having it removed my fiance and I tried to concieve.
Recently I was informed by my general practitioner that I am now infertile as a result of the contraceptive implant.

Progestin works as a contraceptive by allowing ones body to think that it is already pregnant so it stops releasing an egg. If an egg is released the uterus stops it from developing. The progestin pill is also referred to as the mini-pill and is better suited to women who are breastfeeding, overweight or have a history of blood clots

If you take the morning after pill and contiue to take the birth control pill is the birth control still effective for the rest of the month?

If you had missed a pill or been late with a pill, causing you to take the morning after pill, then you should use a back up method of birth control for the next seven days. If you didn't forget a pill or take a pill late, then I'm not sure why you took the morning after pill, but the birth control pill will still be effective even though you took the morning after pill. The morning after pill doesn't make the birth control pill less effective.
