Nurses are the patients advocates in a hospital setting. For instance if a patient goes to surgery and is asleep it is the role of the nurse to care for that patients needs; making sure the patient is safe on the table, counting instruments when closing the wound etc. If these things are not correct it is the nurses responsibility to tell the doctor and technician so that this can be corrected.
