I'm not sure what you are asking. Water connected by any means will always seek it's own level. In a sump pump, either the floor is sloped towards the drain or if it has a perimeter drain, pipe under the floor, it will be sloped towards the drain and gravity takes it there.
Heck no as the sink is higher then the basement drain and water does NOT flow up hill BUT it does seek its own level BUT you can connect a sink drain to a basement drain if you properly trap and vent the line
Tornado
In the basement of a WELL built building.
The first step to take is to immediately seek shelter by going to the nearest basement. If a basement is not available, seek an interior room on the lowest level of a home or building. If you are outside, take cover inside the nearest home or building. If you are unable to do so, do not hide under a bridge/overpass OR remain in your car. Instead, seek the lowest and flattest area of land nearest you. Be aware of flying debris and protect your head with your arms.
The water pump is located behind the timing belt inside the timing belt cover. It is also attached to the water neck for the lower radiator hose. If you've never done a T-Belt seek supervision.
Gravity causes the water to seek it's own level - the sea level! Directionally speaking, they flow from the northwest toward the southeast.
The best place to be during a tornado is in a basement or cellar.
If there is a tornado emergency, you need to seek shelter immediately. Always seek shelter in a basement or other place low to the ground. Try to stay somewhere where there are no windows.
The safest place to be during a tornado is in a basement or storm cellar.
If you are in a house or building get to the basement. If there is no basement get to a room in the center part of the building. A closet or bathroom is often the best. Stay away from windows. If caught outside or in a vehicle seek shelter in a substantial structure. If no shelter is available get in a ditch. Do NOT attempt to flee or outrun a tornado and do NOT seek shelter under a bridge.
If you are at home, go to you basement or cellar. If you don't have a basement, seek shelter in an interior room or hallway on the lowest floor. If you are in a mobile home, seek shelter elsewhere. If you are in a car, seek shelter in underground or in a nearby sturdy building. If none is available and the tornado is still distant, get out of its path. If you doubt that you can escape, get out of the car and seek shelter in a ditch or depression. Do NOT seek shelter under a bridge. If you are in the open anc cannot get to shelter, take cover in a ditch or depression.
