how does the heater controls work on a 2004 chev trk my controler does not change from the floor to the front duck or to the def .and were is the broken unit place in the dash
got power to the controls but dos not trun on

You need to find and fix what broke. The first places to start would be coolant level, engine temperature, and dash heater controls.

Check your fuses for these devices. Or while under the dash you have accidentally unplugged them.
To get to the bulb for lighting the heater controls, the front panel will have to be removed. Depending on the type of vehicle, the knobs might have to be popped off first. It is also possible on some vehicles to get to the lighting for the heater controls from under the dash.
Check the heater valve and/or the controls to the valve. maybe a problem with the controls, most of them are run off of vacuum, if a hose has a hole in it, it wont work
try replaceing the switch that controls the low to high for heater It's gonna be the blower motor resistor (near the blower motor).
