15 miles.
i can drive 50km at least before running out of fuel.
The answer depends on the settings on your car.
I have a 1999 disco2 and when my fuel light comes on, I can go about 20 - 25 miles.
You can easily drive 30-50 miles. I do not recommend you let the fuel level get that low. The fuel pump is cooled by the gasoline in the tank. Once you let the tank get below 1/5 the fuel pump will not be cooled properly and this will shoten it's life.
When the light comes on, you have about 2 gallons of fuel remaining in your tank. How far you make it depends on where and how you are driving. On the highway, maybe about 50 miles, in the city, maybe 40.
Until you run out of gas...
The light comes on when you have about 2 gallons left. You never need to run a fuel injected car this low on fuel.
That depends on the reason why it's coming on.
You can go as far as your legs will carry you. I do like the legs answer, but thought this may help. First, you need to know a couple things about your vehicle. How far a single gallon of gas will take you and how many gallons you have left in your tank when the fuel light comes on. As soon as you can the next time the fuel light comes on, take out a loan and fill your tank. Note how many gallons of gas it took to fill it. Subtract that number of gallons from the total gallons your tank holds. That number will be how many gallons you have remaining when your fuel light comes on. If you know how many miles your truck will go on a gallon of gas, multiply your mileage by the number of gallons you have remaining when the fuel light comes on to get an idea how far you can continue before the engine dies of thirst. Example: Car "A" gets 30mpg. Fuel light comes on when I have 4 gallons of gas remaining in tank. 30mpg x 4 gallons =120 miles.
You have approximately 1.5 gallons of gasoline in your tank at that point. Based on your gas mileage, you can do the math. I would estimate at 22 mpg, that you have 33 miles on average left.
However far you can get on about 1 gallon.
It is a good practice to fill up when the tank is 1/4 full and never let it get below 1/4 full. You can easily suck trash from the bottom of the tank and clog the fuel filter. A partially clogged fuel filter, overworking the pump, is a major cause of fuel pump failure. But to answer your question, I don't recommend it, but, you can easily drive 25 miles after the light comes on. Beyond that is pure speculation. It all depends on how much the reserve is on this car. Normally it will be 2 gallons.
