Well, I would say that you just plonk the table in the middle of the dining room, if you can, because this would mean that you can access all sides of the table easily and you can walk all the way around the table easily when you are serving food. Hope this helps :)

Should my dining room table match the wood in my living room?

That's all a matter of preferance. I say if the two rooms are devided by a wall or are in a completely different area altogether, why not change it up a bit. Too much of the same thing is boring.

How can I use dining benches in a formal dining room?

A formal dining room would not typically use dining benches at the table, unless they were extremely high-quality, hand-crafted from whole logs. More commonly, they would be lined against a wall as an additional area for guests at a part, or as a display area for a vase, flowers, or small sculptures.

Scrumptious! Dining Room Makeover Tips?

GIVE YOUR DINING ROOM A BREATH OF FRESH AIRSmall fixes and decorations can give your dining area a whole new look. Many dining rooms have a more formal feel and, to achieve a fancier look, may also be extremely cluttered. Since the dining area isn't used as much as the rest of the house, nice pieces of furniture that may not fit elsewhere could be living here and taking up valuable room. Remove All Unnecessary Pieces of FurnitureEven though Aunt Betty's curio cabinet and the large artificial tree in the corner are fantastic decorations, they may not be ideal for your particular dining room. If your goal is to create a more open space that will actually be used for dining, it is best to keep the clutter and furniture at a minimum. Clutter and cramped space tend to make people nervous or uncomfortable and it is best to create the feeling of openness to keep your guests as well as your family more at ease.Arrange the Room for Functional UseNow that the non-essential furniture has been moved out of the room, it is time to rearrange the existing pieces to make the most use of the space. The dining table should be the focal point of the room because it conveys a feeling of family togetherness. The table should be in the middle of the room, instead of to the side, and should ideally be situated under the light fixture. The chairs should be arranged around the table at even intervals and any furniture that is staying should be flush against the wall. It is important to keep in mind that people should be able to easily walk around the table and any other furniture should allow this freedom of movement.Give the Table a FaceliftSince the focus of the room should be on the dining table, it should always look its best. When not in use, it is acceptable to use a tablecloth or to leave the table bare. There should be some sort of centerpiece on the table and, usually, a decorative vase with fresh or realistic artificial flowers will give the room the extra oomph it needs. Now that your dining area has received a mini facelift, it is time to use it. Invite friends over or serve your family in your updated dining area so that they can enjoy a new, less cluttered space.

How many seats around a 62 round table?

The number of chairs around a dining room table depends on the size of the table. Tables can fit anywhere from two chairs and more. Round tables may fit more chairs comfortably than square or rectangular tables.

How do you divide a room without using room dividers that can be knocked over by one push and dont divide the whole room?

Placement of furniture can do what you need. A couch with a narrow table behind it can divide a living room from an entrance or placing your dining table behind it will create a separate dining area. For an additional eye fooling trick hang framed pictures (or a mirror) on the invisible wall. Eye hooks in the ceiling and fishing line will make it happen, and your mind tends to believe there is a wall there... In a bedroom, use the headboard of your bed as a divider, the bed doesn't fall over and it is an effective divider.

Should I knock down the wall between kitchen dining room when you open front door you can see the sink?

It's a good question, since I just made the decision to do so, figuring that I can easily add french doors to either the dining room/foyer entrance or dining room/kitchen entrance if I didn't like the visibility. In my home it made the dining room space more usable and the area look much more spacious. But the renovation, which included a kitchen remodel, isn't done yet. If you're concerned about resale I say it's easy enough to put doors or a wall back up if needed.

Could your sunken living room and raised dining room that share one wall be painted in different colors?
