That depends entirely on what vehicle you're driving.
The tank of which car??
How far can helicopter fly on a one tank of gas
The fuel sensor in the gas tank is bad and needs replaced.
check for a hole in gas tank. or seal on top of gas tank or hoses going and coming from tank.
When the fuel tank in a car is below a quarter of a tank and stalls, it could mean that the fuel filter needs to be replaced. Another reason is that the gas gauge may not be reading the correct amount of gas in the car and the gas could be going to empty.
Fill the tank!

You want to leave no less than a Quarter tank of gas in your tank at any givin time. That is if you have an in tank fuel pump. However going below a quarter tank allows the trash at the bottom of the tank to get sucked up into the lines. Also if it is an in tank fuel pump, the gas acts as a coolant for the pump.Running down to "E" runs the fuel pump hot and doing this enough will cause it to fail.
it has a 16.4 Gallon tank. how i know is i have a 93 sundance and it was on empty and i put 10 in gas it gave me 4.100 gallons and put me on a quarter of a tank so 4.100 times 4 qaurters tank of gas =16.4 Gallons
The gas gauge sensor is most likely stuck. It is inside of the tank and over time it will get corroded.
drop in a fuel system cleaner, and fill up your tank. there is a lot of sludge that can build up in the tank, and it can cause the sensor to get suck!
