The purpose of a road legal buggy is to enjoy a fantastic ride on an off-road terrain. Most people bring it to the dessert, bumpy hills, or jungle to experience a fun and entertaining run.

it all depends on how big the engine is. if the buggy is 50cc it will reach 20-25mph, all depends on which type of buggy and the quality of the build. if the buggy is 60cc it will reach around 22-25mph. if the buggy is 70cc it will it will reach 24-27mph. if the buggy is 80cc it will reach 27-32mph. if the buggy is 90cc it will reach 30-34mph. if the buggy is 100cc it will reach 35mph approx. if the buggy is 110cc it will reach 35-37mph. if the buggy is 150cc it will reach 40-60mph, depending on the company that builds it and the dry weight of the buggy. the fastest and most durable 150cc buggy is the hammerhead 150cc gt duo. and 200cc will reach 60-70mph. 250 could reach 70-100mph.
One can build an off road buggy by using some parts from items one may have. Such may include a lawnmower for its engine, as well as wood for the bottom and sides. One can also purchase kits from Go Cart Heaven which have all the necessary parts and instructions one would need.
A golf buggy is typically used on a golf course as a means of transportation on and off road over flat ground to transport players to the next driving range start. It also allows all the heavy equipment to be stored on the buggy to allow easier play.

This depends on what you plan to do with it. If you plan to do all off-roading (or close to it) a Truck will probably work better if the terrain is difficult and requires it to be lifted of the ground. A trucks advantages don't transfer over to road tracks to well. They are also good if you have long grass. An RC buggy is better if your doing a mixture of off road tracks, and road tracks. Buggy's sit rather close to the ground so cant go over large 'bumps'. They can easily do jumps though with a reasonably smooth surface. Long grass will stop them in there tracks though (in fact it doesn't have to be so long because there close to the ground). There advantages do cross over to a road track better than trucks though. I like Buggy's better for most tasks.
