How fast does your internet connection NEED to be for an 8 player match on Xbox Live?

There is no definitive answer to this one.

Games like UNO which do not require real time updates from each machine can work with just about any connection.

Halo etc need each machine to update all the others ever few milleseconds, anything over 200 ms generally causes trouble.

Generally a connection is 1mb per second will give an ok game.

It is also important to factor in where all the players in the game are from.

Being located close to each other helps as the signals have less distance to cover (usually, sometimes the internet can be a little strange about that) and is therefore faster.

Xbox live does have a minimum quality test that happens whenever you run a connection test, but anything that can be called broadband will usually pass.

You need atleast a 1.0 Mbps to play with a lag but 3.0 Mbps to experence less lag and a 6.0 Mbps for no lag

From what I have used, XBOX LIVE is fastest with Verizon. Though it may cost you plenty of money, it doesn't beat DirectTV.

at least 1 mb it, will lag though . no lag if you have 5 mb.
